Award-winning composer, producer, arranger, and songwriter from Sarajevo, now based in Los Angeles.
Adi Mulahalilović’s musical journey began in the late 1980s with the legendary band Hari Mata Hari, where he worked as pianist, composer, and arranger during the group’s rise to become one of the most successful acts in the former Yugoslavia. His work during this period earned numerous industry honors, including the Golden Bird Award, Two Diamond Records, and multiple Platinum Records from Jugoton.
In 1991, Adi left the band to produce his brother Edo Mulahalilović’s platinum-selling album Jedna je pjesma cijelog života. Soon afterward, war broke out across the former Yugoslavia, dramatically changing the course of their lives and careers.
During the Siege of Sarajevo, Adi and Edo continued to write, produce, and create music and cultural projects under extraordinary circumstances. Among their most significant works was Ostani kraj mene, the song that represented Bosnia and Herzegovina at the Eurovision Song Contest in Ireland in 1994.
After the war, Adi collaborated on numerous gold and platinum-certified recordings across Europe, working with major record labels and artists as a composer, producer, arranger, and ghostwriter. Often behind the scenes, he helped shape songs, recordings, and artistic identities, earning a reputation as a trusted creative partner without seeking the spotlight.
The passing of his brother Edo in 2010 marked a profound turning point. After relocating to California, Adi stepped away from the music industry, leaving behind a career that had already spanned decades.
Eventually, he returned to music - but with a different perspective and a renewed artistic vision.
Today, Adi’s work extends beyond traditional songwriting and record production into music for video, animation, and visual storytelling. His music draws from a lifetime of experiences, blending cinematic emotion with Americana roots rock, blues, and subtle world influences. At its heart is a simple belief: a song should tell a story and make you feel something.
Adi is especially interested in collaborating with video creators, game developers, visual artists, filmmakers, and storytellers who are looking for original music that serves the story rather than simply filling the soundtrack.
